The Spanish trade union Comisiones Obreras is organising a workshop to present Spain’s new immigration law in Madrid on 15 January 2025. Representatives of Spanish institutions, the Secretary General of Comisiones Obreras, Unai Sordo, and the Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation, Giulio Romani, as well as other important guests will be present. The Spanish experience and social dialogue (such as the tripartite commission) could be a useful model for other EU countries.
The RSMMS network working group on regularisation systems has been invited to participate in the workshop. The day before, on 14 January 2025, the working group will meet to consolidate a common policy proposal on the regularisation of migrants, also in the presence of Giulio Romani, Confederal Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation, and Liliana Keith from the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants.
